The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education recently released the annual performance report (APR) for all districts in the state. This is the second year that school performance is being measured using the sixth version of the Missouri School Improvement Plan (MSIP 6). Districts receive points in two categories, performance, and continuous improvement. The performance category is based on student achievement on the annual state assessments that are taken in the spring each year. The continuous improvement section gives points to districts for submitting data to the state in a timely manner, attendance, graduation rates, and completing required surveys of stakeholders. Eventually, after three years of data collection, these scores will be used to determine the accreditation status for each district in the state.
Green Forest was just one of 26 districts in the state to score over 90%. The district received 90.7% of all possible points. We are extremely proud of our staff, students, and community for another year of exemplary success. While we do have some questions about parts of the APR that are beyond our control, we are excited to see high scores in areas that we feel like are a true measure of the success of our students.
