It is that time of year again. The time of year where students get to show off all that they know and have learned throughout the current school year. The end of the year MAP and EOC exams will start next Tuesday for some grades and Wednesday for the others. These exams are taken by students in grades 3-8 in the areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics. Grades 5 and 8 also must take a science exam. Our Kindergarten through 2nd grade students will also be completing some end of the year diagnostic testing at this time as well. See below for the full MAP testing schedule for each grade level.
Tips for Success
During the next couple of weeks of testing, a few reminders to help your student be successful.
Plenty of sleep. Making sure your student goes to bed on time and gets an appropriate 8 hours of sleep is very important to their ability to focus and do their very best.
Eating breakfast. It is important that your child has a healthy breakfast to start their morning. Breakfast is served at school each day starting at 7:30 AM. Please make sure they eat at home if they elect not to eat at school.
Attendance. All students must complete the exams. It is very important that they are here in attendance on the days in which they are testing. Having to make up the test at a later time is not ideal.
Encourage your child to try their hardest. All we ask of our students is to focus and try their best. Students are rewarded throughout the week by their teacher not for the outcome, but for their effort. Talk to your student about just trying their best and not trying to be the fastest.
