We are in our final two weeks of school, and I would like to thank every family for making this school year a success. However, school is not over yet. There are many activities for students in the month of May. We want all students to be able to participate in these activities. Please encourage your child to make good choices every day so they may participate. Students must continue to earn the right to participate. Negative behavior incidents may disqualify your student from being able to enjoy these fun events.
MAP testing went well. We are completely finished. The kids did a fantastic job of taking testing seriously, the teachers did a fantastic job of preparing the students and you all did a fantastic job of having your child here on time and ready to take the test! I could also tell that you had discussed with your child the importance of these tests, and that is the most valuable thing you can do!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE SUPPORT OF YOUR CHILD AND THE SUPPORT OF YOUR SCHOOL!! If children see that school is important to parents, it will be important to them as well. Thanks again!
We will be having general enrollment for the 2022-23 school year on August 3rd and 4th. If you know of someone new in the district, or who has a child who will be 5 years old before August 1st this year, please tell them to come by the office on one of these days with the child’s birth certificate, social security card, shot record, and proof of residency. Each Kindergarten child must be present on their day of enrollment.
In August, we will screen all students in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades to identify students who may be at-risk for the reading disability of dyslexia as required by Missouri state statue. These students will be screened three times per year (beginning, middle, and end of the year). Children in kindergarten will be screened in the middle of the year and at the end of the year.
Mrs. Crocker and I would like to personally thank you for making this first year in the district such a success. I have worked in multiple districts and buildings in my years in education and I can tell you that what we have here at Green Forest is rare and extremely special. The community and parents are such an integral part of the culture here. It is truly unlike anywhere else and something that we should all be extremely proud of. Thank you.
