Smile Mobile is picking up forms on Wednesday from the school. Please have yours turned in prior to that if you haven't already. You may also sign up online. They will be here on Monday to begin seeing those who have signed up. If you have questions please contact the office. Go Mustangs!
The main school phone line (3902) is currently not working. Our other two lines (9412 and 2452) do have a dial tone but it is mixed with some heavy static. We hope to have them all back up and going soon. Go Mustangs.
There has been a lot of rain overnight in some places. Our bus drivers will not cross any amount of water over the roadways. If you live past a low water crossing it is possible that the bus will be unable to make it to your stop. Go mustangs.
Today at approximately noon, we had a fire alarm malfunction which resulted in the alarm sounding. We followed our fire evacuation procedure until we could verify the alarm. Students and staff evacuated the building efficiently and effectively just as we have practiced during our drills. This was a malfunctioning alarm and no danger was present at any time. Once we had evidence of a false alarm, the students and staff returned to the building and continued exploring, growing and learning.

Our exploring Ag elective has been hard at work planting mums in our outdoor garden. Special thanks to Cahill's for providing the mums and to the Schmidt and Inman families for donations that helped with many of the other supplies that our Ag class will use throughout the year to keep our outdoor garden looking great.

We had 101 students with perfect attendance for this first 3 week grading period and were entered into a drawing for a special treat. Go Mustangs!
4th and 5th Grade Basketball games get underway tonight at 5:00 PM here at the Forest against the Northwood R-4 Panthers. Go Mustangs.
Bus 4 had to return to school and swap buses due to mechanical issues. They are back on the road but running 15-20 minutes behind schedule.
Last Friday was our MAP Rewards Day to celebrate another great year of MAP scores. Our students enjoyed some Custard By C-Sue as a special treat to celebrate their success. Go Mustangs!

The Mustangs have had a wonderful start to the school year. We look forward to exploring, learning and growing together! Here are some reminders for the upcoming week. First, MAP student score reports went home with students on Thursday and Friday. Second, please complete all the beginning of the school year forms including the Free and Reduced Lunch Application. Third, the first PTO and Title parent meeting will take place on Monday, August 26 at 4:30 in the cafeteria. Finally, Picture Day is Friday, August 30th. Picture packets came home with the beginning of the school year forms. Have a wonderful weekend!
